They have a separate price for kids
Yes, and the new location is better laid out and nicer than their old.
Very good place to fill yourself. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing for lunch. We didn't know that they closed between lunch and supper. We were only allowed to place one order so we made the most of it. I went there with my daughter(11) a buddy and his wife and son(11). It was the first time that my daughter and I have eaten there. The people we went with we're regulars. They did the ordering with a little input from my daughter and myself. The food was prepared fast each dish arrived as we finished the previous dish. We were all stuffed and it cost me $36.00 for me and my daughter. The service was fast and friendly. My daughter asked me today when can we go back to happy sushi.I will definitely return and make my own food choices as my daughter and myself were very pleased.
Cheap prices for all you can eat meals, average to good sushi.
Pretty good, used to be 5 stars but service has slowed down and they always don't have at least one thing on the menu. Still worth while
I don't think I will go to any other sushi restaurant in Halifax because I love Happy Sushi so much. The service is quick, the selection of food is great and I always order something I haven't tried before and have found some new favorites!
My rating is 4 is due to the fact I have had previous positive, however my last trip wasn't as good as my previous experiences. The salmon was cut in awkwardly large portions, and very chewy. With other AYCE sushi places in Halifax, at the same price not having this issue, I was disappointed. It will be a while until I go back to this restaurant.
Meal for two adults and two children = $144. Cheap this place is not. I'm a veteran at restaurants and I still have no idea how they snuck that past us. I guess the two $11 glasses of cheap cheap wine should have been a clue. The kids had a bowl of rice and miso soup and that cost $14 each. I feel like I've been robbed. Some of the food was good, but some was typical cheap quality all-u-can-eat fare.Avoid!!!!
Always super customer service and the sushi is my favourite in the city! Drive across the city to eat there!!! Yumm!
Good sushi and their all-you-can-eat option is a fair deal
Great selection, great prices, and good service.
Favourite all you can eat sushi restaurant in Halifax! Friendliest staff you'll meet. Buy 10 dinners with cash and get 1 free.
This is my dads and I place. We go monthly on our son and father bonding time. They are so friendly. Always feel welcome there and they remember us too. It makes it feel like a special spot. Their food takes a bit to get out but so totally worth the wait.
Must eat. The all-you-can-eat is a pretty reasonable deal and we love the food. Perfect for a big lunch!
The food was amazing! The price of the menu food was cheaper than others, but the all you can eat at almost 30$ is a little too pricey. I'll certainly go again though.
I'm turning into a regular. Good food at a small family run business.
Due to the pandemic, it has been impossible to eat in, so I ordered to go from here several times. I have to say, as a Sushi lover, this place was decent. I can't compare really, but for the a la carte menu, they had a good variety of options. I personally like the combo set. Their sushi tastes fresh and the workers are very kind. They had my order ready on time with the extra soy and spicy mayo! I would for sure order from them again.
The staff members are always so kind and the sushi is always fresh and delicious. I just ordered delivery today, it was fast and exactly what I ordered.Thank you!
Good food and Good service, but the wait time was longer than expected.
Really good all you can eat lunch menu. A little small compared to other places but still good. We didn't know they closed at 2pm so we we're not done by then and ended up staying about 15 past. The people working were really nice and didn't ask us to leave. They actually asked us if we wanted anything else. I'll be going back there for sure.
Went there for the second time and can say value per money wise, it's the best of its kind in town. The only issue is you have to wait for a table almost an hour on Sundays ! They need to hire more staffs are well because I see how hard the servers are working just to meet the standards.
Good food and good service. I'm always hesitant going to an all you can eat sushi place, but we enjoyed ourselves. The first two dumplings were a hard but the rest were great. Kids under 3 eat free at this point in time.Be aware that they do charge you 10% for tips and will charge you for any food left over on your table. Makes sense to me to avoid people trying to take leftovers or order too much. These charges with the prices on the door going in and the charge about leftover food is on the top of each menu, so anyone mentioning that they weren't informed about charges probably just didn't read the fine print/the prices/charges on the front door. For three of us, plus an additional 5% tip (15 total), it was just over $50 at this point in time.
Very good sushi. Good price for lunch. Service can be a bit slow when busy, but understandable.
Food was good. Once I figured out the menu ordering system all was well."All you can eat" has a rule where you're billed for what you don't eat so make sure not to order too much they you can't finish.
Food was good but it was a good 40 minutes to get anything we ordered and it wasn't very busy. Would go again but need to block off a while afternoon to have a meal.
Awsome all you can eat sushi. Make sure not to order more then you can eat otherwise your wasting food and will be charged extra for wasting food. Good place with good pepole
Great place for all you can eat sushi in Halifax. The evening menu is extensive and the service I receive is friendly and quick. On busy nights the food takes more time to come out but still at a reasonable pace. I give an extra star because of the all you can eat sashimi which is rare in AYCE sushi restaurants. Have brought many friends here and will continue to do so.
Overall really this restaurant falls in the middle. 3/5. The good: place is super clean. Staff were friendly and service was (somewhat) acceptable. Its slower since the food is "Fresh". What could be better: the food isn't as tasty as other places in HRM. Some of the appetizers felt like they were precooked and heated in a microwave. You could tell because the plate was hot. For the price, there are better selections in HRM.
Tasty sushi at a great price. My favourite sushi restaurant in the whole city.
Great Sushi and good fast service... Can't go wrong with the all you can eat!!
Servers and chef's are not the most personable or approachable but the sushi was fantastic. All you can eat. Need I say more.
Save your money. The all you can eat seems cheap but for me and my husband it came to $61 at supper time.. I got water and he got pop.. nothing extra. I've been eating and ordering sushi for years and I can't recall another restaurant that doesn't have a brief description of the rolls on their menu... and it was annoying. I had to get the waitress to explain like half the menu trying to decide what I wanted. My seaweed salad was smaller than the TINY bowl of wasabi paste and pickled ginger that they brought out. The shrimp tempura tasted like the oil was old. The rolls were gross. Service charge was dumb and unexpected and not explained. And no one once asked how anything was.
I did not enjoy the sushi here. The tempura was soft instead of crisp. Tried the fried rice and it tasted sweet, burnt, and undercooked all at the same time. Miso soup was watery. Everything in general was just bland. I told the waitress about our concerns and she didn't do anything to rectify the situation except say 'ok' and take some of the food back. The restaurant also has a "service charge" in addition to the price of all you can eat diner.Won't be back.
All you can eat suish with great selection. you can watch your sushi being prepared fresh. Service is always quick and friendly.
I give this 4 stars because the food is good and the employees are quite kind. However, inside the restaurant it is very cold and service was a little slow, but I totally recommend you come and try it out!
The quality of food is not what I was expecting. The chicken was dry and the shrimp was quite small and lacked taste. I'm very upset because I just moved into the area and was hoping for a local gem. Luckily the city has many sushi locations so I won't have to go without.
Great food, very reasonably priced. Followed them from Lacewood to Larry Uteck without a second thought. Good way to get variety and try new things!
The wait times for food orders is ridiculously long with some of the orders getting "lost" in the kitchen. I've gone to Happy Sushi on numerous occasions and have waited up to an hour and 15 minutes for my order to come to my table, even when the restaurant was empty. The staff aren't the friendliest, they count the food you order and judge you on the quantity you eat. They also don't pay attention to their customers and never want to come by your table, even when you flag them down. The sushi was fine, sometimes the food wasn't the freshest like the avocados having brown ends, but the food was overall satisfactory. The experience, on the other hand, completely undermined the taste of the food.
The lunch price is less than some other sushi places in the area. The flavour is reflected in that. Should I mention the hair in the glass of water that was served? It wasn't noticed until most of the way through the meal. We will not be returning.
best all you can eat Sushi in HRM
Pretty good quality for an all-you-can-eat, but nothing i would buy individually. Much higher quality sushi around but that costs a lot more money. Service is meh but... good for a quick dine-in for the budget sushi lover.
Food was fresh and delicious. A bit of a wait for service because the place was filled to capacity (Saturday night). A bit pricy but not unreasonable for the quality. Best all you can eat sushi in Halifax.
Friendly staff and fresh sushi. Staff was attentive and food was delicious.Recommendation: have a description of the sushi contents
I go here around once a month service is usually meh but that is expected at all you can eat places. I just tried to make a pickup order at 845pm when they close at 930pm. I called 5 times no anwser so sushi nami is getting my business tonight.
Incredibly slow service with wait times well over 30 mins for first round of all you can eat buffet! Portion sizes way too small (made for children?). Restaurant charges an automatic 10% for service. The service sucks. I'd recommend another restaurant with better service and larger portion sizes.
Best Sushi place in Halifax hands down.Always made right in front of you and very very fresh and tasty. They have a hood amount of staff on at all times and are very quick to serve you and help you with anything you may need. The food is delivered to you very quickly and they are also very quick to retrieve empty plates and refill waters.I suggest trying the sushi Pizza,Green Dragon Rolls and well anything else on the menu. You csnt go wrong at Happy sushi.Happy Customer
Great service, sushi was good for an all you can eat spot, udon noodles were really good
Mind blowingly bad food..The chicken scewer was not fresh at all and a little bit sour.. when I asked the server, she said that was because of the lemon juice.. which was not obviously.. that made me sick..Horrible service...Would not recommend this to anyone!!
me and my friends was there eating buffet. First of all, food quality really bad, breaded shrimp totally raw , then garlic beef, beef was tough and overcooked, garlic were burnt. We told one of the lady, she answered it's fine. W.T.F. The last thing I should mention to all of people, they charged us around $4 as service fees without any notification. Watch out guys.
This is one of my favorite. The food is usually good although they do keep their fish a little too long. There is a hidden cost $3 per person that they call a service fee. Other than that atmosphere is on point and place is above average.
Washrooms are disgusting, use to have great service but now staff are rude and slow. Forget to cook some of the items you ask for. This is our second bad service after being there numerous times. Doesn't seem like its going to get better. Also the service charge they don't tell you about... it's too bad as this use to be out go to place...
